Following an injury he sustained in a sporting accident back in 1997, James found himself being passed from specialist to specialist, each one unable to help him out.
Frustrated and increasingly disillusioned, James was recommended to a local chiropractor, and through this experienced great results and was able to start on his road to recovery.
Inspired by the successful course of care he had received, James entered Chiropractic College and five years later in 2004 graduated from the prestigious Welsh Institute of Chiropractic
In 2004 James moved to Newcastle for 9 years, before moving over to Ireland with his wife Kate in 2011 where together they founded Vitality Chiropractic.
Martina O’Brien is the massage therapist in Vitality Chiropractic. She graduated with an honours degree in Health and Leisure with Massage in 2012 from the IT, Tralee. She specialises in sports related injury massage (using remedial and orthopaedic techniques), combining it with deep tissue massage. She also enjoys giving relaxation massages when required.
She uses these and a multitude of massage techniques, blending them to create unique therapy sessions to help restore balance to the body and facilitate optimal tissue function and healthy range of motion.
Martina collaborates with the chiropractors to assist with the corrective care for each person, tailoring the massage to individual requirements.
Massage therapy is highly effective when a person is undergoing chiropractic care, as when the underlying spinal structure improves the muscles are much easier to work with.
